Eco Nuts, Saving the planet one load at a time!

I was given Eco Nuts by Vitacost to try out. I was really excited about trying this product because I'm always looking for a new way to be more earth conscience, and if it cleans my clothes its a bonus.
Eco Nuts are berries that grow on a tree and naturally contain a soap.
The soap, called saponin, is a natural cleaner that works as a surfactant, breaking the surface tension of the water to penetrate the fibers of your clothing, lifting stains from the fabric and leaving dirt suspended in the water that is rinsed away. The Soap Nuts are a berry that grows in the Himalayas that naturally produces a soap. Love that they are so exotic.
The directions are easy.
Only four easy steps to naturally clean, odor-free laundry!

1. Place 4-5 Eco Nuts in the reusable wash bag provided and tie it closed.
2. Put it in with your laundry and wash as normal, per manufacturer instructions.
3. Remove the bag at the end of the wash and set aside to dry or do another load.
4. Re-use at least 10 times until they start to disintegrate and then they can be composted in your garden or simply add new Eco Nuts to the bag.

I tried to wash a few ways. First I used it alone. I had a mix of clothing and some were soiled more than others. Then for my next load I added a bit of other detergent only half of what I normally would add in addition to the Eco Nuts. Then on my last load I did my laundry how I would normally do it with my normal detergent and no Eco Nuts.

In the end. They were all cleaned the same. My laundry was clean and odor free. The only difference was there a bit of scent with my regular detergent. Cleanliness wise...all loads were clean I could not tell the difference. I was so surprised. Surprised that NUTS cleaned my clothes. This would be awesome for someone who has allergies. Works for laundry like delicates, silk, baby clothes, cloth Diapers, and wool.
Vitacost sells Eco Nuts Natural Laundry Detergent for $34.99 and that's good for 360 loads of laundry...that's about 10 cents a load. Excellent deal!
I give this 2 thumbs up and say, Try it!
