Tip-Off with Kia and CrowdTap!
I was the fortunate lucky girl in getting to host a CrowdTap party showing off the brand Kia!I got an awesome party kit which included,
Party Kit Items:
Kia branded mini Basketball & Hoop Set, $20 Gift Card for refreshments, Party Packet, and an added bonus! Which was another $20 gift card for the winner of the hoops game!
The weather has really been nice lately so I went ahead with a bbq. We grilled out bbq chicken and veggies.
I thought it would be a good touch to make goodie bags for the guest. I even did it for the kids sticking candy and toys in their bags.
We played games too, I had everyone who wanted to play a game of "Horse" and the winner got a $20 gift card. I also did another game for the kids and awarded the mini hoop Crowdtap gave me to them. Everyone had such a wonderful time. I think the party went about 4 hours. Some guest even stayed till night fall.
I really went all out on refreshments, I got a snow cone machine and made everyone snow cones. Also had cups of ice cream, which was perfect because it was a hot day!
I just love getting to spend time with friends and family. Kia and Crowdtap made that possible and I want to throw a huge shout out to them! If this is something you enjoy doing too...come join me and sign up for Crowdtap. You give your opinions, can host brand parties like the fabulous one I did, or even sample shares. They also have awesome sample shares. Join today!

Fossil Tech Case Review
Sometimes I want to go out of the house and leave my purse at home. Its hard when with today's lifestyle you need your phone and money. Well I think I found a solution to the problem. The Fossil Key-Per Carryall Case.
I love this the design. So cute and a hot colors for the season. I can't think of nothing I can't wear with this case. At $30 bucks its a steal. There are so many possiblities of uses, whether you are using a phone or not. Honestly though I see myself using it with my phone because I never leave without it. The Fossil Tech Case has a little leather strap that is perfect if you want to carry it by itself. I found the strap fit comfortable over my wrist like a camera case strap. I also found you could put the strap around your purse if you did decide to take it and that way you have your credit cards, money, and phone in quick reach. If you go hiking the strap could even go around a belt loop on your jeans for a hands free trip.
There is a pocket in the front, I think would be great for chap stick, or even a house key. If I was going to the beach I could see myself sliding my glasses or contact case in there. Really a pretty deep pocket that could hold quite a number of small items.
Inside it is orange. Such a great color. It also has 3 pockets in the side for your cards or cash. Its compatible with the iPhone® 4/4s and iPhone® 5. I myself have a Droid Smartphone and found it as well fit into there nicely with ample room for my money. I did try various phones it the case. Everyone in my family has a different phone. The only issues I ran into was with my daughters phone. She has a Droid Razr Maxx, which is a rather large phone but then she puts a bling case over it for decoration. Her phone fit but I couldn't zip it. She said she would still carry it in her opinion just might not worry about zipping it.
Bottom line:
Pros: Various colors keep you never guessing what you will wear it with. The strap is super useful and offer many different ways to sport it around town.
Cons: If you are the type who put phone covers on, like the ones with bling..you many not be able to fit your phone in it or zip it up.
Verdict: For $30, this is a keeper and so useful. I say its a must purchase!

Get Fashionably Fit in Old Navy Activewear!
This journey entails a girl and her friend going to find awesome Activewear courtesy of Old Navy and Crowdtap! Old Navy is one of them places no matter what your mood is for clothing, be it you want to go swimming, dress your infant, or get fit, you can always find a great look for prices that leave you splurging on more than what you came in for! Crowdtap awarded me with the opportunity to do a sample share with one friend. I received a coupon for my friend and myself, redeemable for an activewear top and bottom.
This was sweet nirvana for us. We are a couple of girls who like to workout and often go walking, yoga, and hiking together.
Going into the store, they had a special section dedicated to Activewear and everything was well organized and very open. I think they were getting new stock in because normally they have a lot of tables or racks in the center of the sections. I love that the store was so neat and organized. Made it very easy for my friend and I to shop. Though we were not looking for clearance...I noticed they had an abundance of it everywhere.
My friend settled on a cute pair of black activewear pants and a grey v-neck. I really wanted something cooler on the legs, so I got some grey capri active wear pants and got the matching jacket for them colder mornings when I go walking or running.
Right when we got home we put on our outfits and went out into the front yard for a little volleyball. Wearing the outfits I felt confident and ready for any kind of exercise. I could even say that wearing the activewear made me want to be a more active person. I'm thinking because I looked so cute and my friend matched!
You know you can have a great time shopping and trying one Old Navy Activewear. Join Crowdtap and have a say with companies and do awesome sample shares like this one. Along with a chance to win gift cards. Its a win-win!

Shore-ly a Beach Beauty in Old Navy Beachwear Party!
Anyone who has ever shopped at Old Navy knows that it's not hard to have a good time or find some great clothes at reasonable prices. Every time I go, I never leave without a bag...or bags of coveted finds. My experience this time was different, you could even say, a bit surreal and euphoric! I was given the opportunity by Crowdtap and Old Navy, to host a party at Old Navy and a coupon to redeem for a free Old Navy swimsuit, pair of flip-flops, beach towel and beach bag! But the fun didn't stop there…I also got to bring along 3 lucky friends and they too got to pick out an Old Navy swimsuit, flip-flops, beach towel and beach bag, FREE! I took along my Mom, daughter, and cousin. My cousin also brought along her daughter as well! We were all so excited. All of us frequently shop at Old Navy and love the clothes. This was really a great opportunity and I loved having all my best girls out for a day of fun shopping at our local Old Navy!
Even though my party was of all generations, we had one thing in common, our love of Old Navy. It was so much fun going through all the bathing suits and matching with flip-flops. Getting to top off our look with a super cute bag and towel. I know we tried on every single bathing suit there! They had an awesome collection for any body type! There were prints, solids, bikinis and tankinis. Old Navy even had a wall of flip-flops that looked like a rainbow.
We found ourselves in the dressing room so many times...I had to ask...can this count as my exercise for the day? Uh, YES! It was such an awesome day!
My cousin picked up extra flip-flops. She says you can never have to many of Old Navy flip-flops! I totally agree.
It was nice to be there and see all the fun colors and designs. Really put us in a good mood and got us even talking about planning a trip to the lake!
My daughter ended up getting two bathing suits a tankini and a whole piece. I didn't blame her, there was to many to choose from and it really was hard to pick.
The one thing I find myself noticing about Old Navy swimsuits is the quality. I ended up after trying on a zillion suits and finally deciding on one out of about 5 that were my favorite, a pretty whole piece Twist-Front Bandeau Swimsuit in Flaming Flamingo Top color. Love the name! The empire seam and sweetheart neckline was really flattering!
Now I have my whole look for hanging out at the beach and pools. Summer here I come!

P&G Products, Some of America’s “Most Loved”
Proctor & Gamble, also know as P&G, make some of the best, most useful products on the market today. I will admit, my cabinets and home is stocked with countless items by them. They are a company driven by passionate people and a common purpose, P&G brings beloved brands to consumers around the world—including our 50 Leadership Brands that are among the world’s most well known household names. Hard to believe they have been around nearly 175 years!
Well saying all them mind blowing facts, SheSpeaks.com offered me an opportunity to try some of their wonderful products and tell about my experience with them.
In my box I had
Gillette Fusion ProSeries Irritation Defense Soothing Moisturizer, Tide® To Go Pen, and OLAY TOTAL EFFECTS 7-IN-1 ADVANCED ANTI AGING BODY WASH - DEEP PENETRATING MOISTURE. All superb and wonderful products.
The first, Gillette Fusion ProSeries Irritation Defense Soothing Moisturizer. I let my husband try that one out. He really loved it.
Idea of it super simple. Apply on after shaving helps Reduce 5 Signs of Shaving Irritation
-Nicks/Cuts
-Burning
-Stinging
-Redness
-Tightness
The Irritation Defense formula hydrates to relieve dry skin and cools to soothe just shaved skin. Formulated with an active soothing complex and a touch of aloe.
Verdict: He loved it and said it worked, no stinging cuts. Even days later he had no redness or tightness which he said he gets using his other products.
Next I tried out the Tide® To Go Pen.
I have used this before, so I know how great it is. I actually keep one in my purse because I'm a shoe in on spilling stuff on me. Some facts about this product are:
Product Details
1 per pack
Pen applicator for easy stain removal
Helps to eliminate many fresh food and drink stains
Convenient size allows you to take it with you wherever you go
My Verdict: I love this because I ruin a lot of tops because I'm clumsy and you can't bring a washing machine everywhere you go. A+ in my book!
Last but not least, OLAY TOTAL EFFECTS 7-IN-1 ADVANCED ANTI AGING BODY WASH - DEEP PENETRATING MOISTURE. I have to say this was my favorite in the box to try. I think because it was a "ME" product. I really enjoy shower time and often have issues finding gels and washes that don't dry me out.
A little product information on Olay Total Effects Body Wash, its Olay’s most advanced body wash, Total Effects goes beyond cleansing to deeply moisturize and fight 7 signs of aging all over your body.
For soft, smooth skin in 1 shower, improved elasticity in 1 week, young-looking, radiant skin in 1 month.
7 Anti-Aging Benefits: Improves elasticity, Relieves dryness, Deeply conditions skin, Brightens dull skin, Evens skin tone, Smooths rough skin and Minimizes the appearance of dry lines.
7 skin benefits in 1 anti-aging body wash.
It does all it claims, I had soft supple skin and I felt the appearance was more youthful even after a few showers. The smell was intoxicating and I totally loved shower time even more than I already do, now knowing I'm fighting aging!

The Chore List
I don't know how many of you parents out there do chores with your children. I really think my kids have it really easy and need to start learning responsibility. There is my son who is 9, going to be 10 next month and my daughter, a good solid 12. I printed out a chore chart I found online.
It was pretty easy, there was a spot for the chore going across and the day it was to be done on going down. You simply write the chore and put an X on what day you want it done. I did really easy chores. Things that were no fail type stuff, such as picking up all the trash in the front and backyard, vacuuming the living room and hallway. One night a week I have they are to do the dinner dishes. I felt pretty confident that I picked some good chores. I hung a copy of their individual chores in each of the kids' rooms so they could always see it and I printed the "rules" of the chart. The "rules" were broke up into 3 short but thorough sections:
- First stated what time the chores are to be done by and said that in the event they were not home, the chore would be done the following day.
- Then the rewards, which was $5 at the end of the week with no problems and if they did a whole month perfect they got an additional prize which could be something like extra money, pizza party, sleep over, etc. I told them that if they got the end of the month reward, we would set a time to talk about a good reward for them.
- Finally the dreaded punishment, if the chores were not done to the best of their ability or even at all. They lost out on their allowance for the week and for each chore not done a possession or privilege would be taken away for one week. I will give them a coupon with a date, the date is the day they get back their item or privilege back into effect. If they continued each day the same action would happen. Don't feel bad, my kids are very stocked with electronics and gadgets. I could probably go for a month or two and they would still have stuff to amuse them.
To me sounds easy, sounds fair, I had a meeting with the kids went over their chore chart, gave them the list of "rules" for the chart so they could be reminded of the rewards and punishments, and answered questions. Everything went well, I had explained everything and left no room for errors.
DAY 1:
The first day, I was really excited, my son took to the chores super easy. His task consisted of going around the house, collecting the garbage cans and dumping them. Super easy task. I was really proud to see my son working and helping me out. I was kinda impressed, he is always the one who doesn't make the best grades in school, he is very high strung with lots of energy. I worried he wouldn't do his job properly...or to put it bluntly...half ass it.
My daughters chores were for that day to do the dinner dishes. Another super easy task since we had pizza and fries. I swear of all nights for her to do dishes she really lucked out because there was literally 4 plates and a few glasses! I was I think overly confident in her ability to do the chart. I knew the chores were very easy and I know she is getting at that age where she wants to shop, buy clothes, so I knew the money incentive would drive her. She is the one who makes pretty good grades, she even talks like a grown up at times using a vocabulary that even some of my friends don't have.
I didn't mention it before but the chores were to be completed by 8. The day when by, we had ate dinner, it was 7:45pm and she comes downstairs and does the dishes. Oh my gosh....it drove me nuts waiting to see if she would complete them. I literally was biting my nails. I want to see my kids do well and be just good people in general, above all. I was shocked that she waited till 15 minutes before to do it. I calmly came into the kitchen while she was washing off the few dishes that she had and told her that she had cut it close and reminded her about the paper of the "rules" and how I would stick to them.
DAY 2:
Okay so the first day went as I would say half and half. Son did great, daughter shockingly hung by a thread. I was still hopeful though and proud that they did do their chores and were helping out being a part of the family. For today....LOL (yes I am laugh out loud...this was today). Today son had two chores. One, to clean his room and the second to vacuum the living room and hallway. My daughter had one, to clean her room and two, clean the bathroom, which consisted of Windexing, (yes, Windexing is a word in our house, basically means to clean the window with Windex) the windows, cleaning the toilet, and sweeping the floor. Did I mention our bathroom is not very big. I'm thinking a 12' by 12' room, including the tub. So she comes home and goes upstairs to play on her DS and get on the internet with it. I did not see her till dinner. My son comes straight home does his homework and continues right on his chores. He comes outside and tells me he is done if I can go ahead and check his work. I say okay. Really impressed with his eagerness. This is a new side to my son that I was unaware of, he is really a hard worker and loves the reward system. I'm making a mental note of this...there has to be some way to tie this in to school to bring his grades up. I digress...that's another blog. Around 7:50pm...just 10 minutes before the chores are to be done for the day she comes in my room and starts telling me something. I'm looking at her as if I can mentally put it in her head to run do her chores before she loses something. I told them at the meeting I would not be down their throats reminding them or nagging because they had to learn responsibility. So here I am...staring at her, sending mental messages. Nothing. Obviously, she has some kind of brain blocking mechanism and can't receive mental messages. Darn! Finally I can't hold it anymore, I blurted out that it was 5 minutes till 8 and asked if she had did her chores. I told her that I wasn't going to say anything but really at 5 till there was no way she could get the work done. She told me that she could go do it now. I'm told her, "No, no you can't because that will put you past 8 and the paper says done by 8.
Now for the part I hate and usually bend on...backing up my words, with what Dr. Phil would say, putting verbs in my sentences. I chose her TV and her DS. She took it pretty well and claimed that she didn't care. I was really feeling defeated. I don't even know why. I was really hoping she would do her chores and everything would have a happy ending, nope! So I see her 10 minutes later drifting past me and I see in her hand, her brothers DS and tablet. I ask her what is she doing with her brothers things. She tells me that he told her she could play with them and then proceeds to her room. Really??? I swear, I had thought of everything, or did I? I have to admit, my daughter is a smart one. She really does remind me of myself at her age at times. So she had beat the system. I know my son doesn't even realize what was going on, he is just a good hearted kid. He would give his last dollar just to make someone happy. I think that's one of my favorite and least favorite things about him. I love that he has a heart of gold but hate that he gets used, abused, and mistreated by his friends at times because they take advantage of his gift. He will also do anything for his big sis' really sweet, super annoying if you are a parent trying to teach a life lesson. So I have to be the bad guy, I have to put my foot down, and I have to be a parent. I go in her room and tell her she must return the items to her brother. I tell her while her brothers items were not items I took away, I saw what she was doing and thought that it was undermining what rules I had put in place. She began to cry. Did I see that happening...yep. I will not break. Yes, usually I do cave at this point and say something like, "Well, lets make this a warning and next time.." Yes I do this a lot. I took a deep breath and told her that I have to hold her to the rules because it wasn't fair if I let her slide and hold her brother to higher standard than what I was holding her too. I also told her that her chores was easy and she had to start having responsibilities and helping out, something that other families do, in fact, do. I ended my lecture with telling her that if she does undermine me I have to step in and adjust my rules because a punishment is meant to be a lesson and if she could just get her brothers stuff and play on the exact thing I took away, it really wasn't fair or honest. So do I think that it sunk in and now there will be nothing but rainbows and unicorns? No, I know that she is at an age where her hormones are kicking in and all she really thinks about is herself. I was there once and believe it or not, I do still remember. I sit and look back at who I was then and now and I am kinda amazed at how I have changed. How age has made me wiser. While we are not even a week into this chore chart I'm still hopeful that I can teach responsibility with it and teach them about a family living together helping maintain a house and how it is everyone's job. I'm feeling like Dr. Martian Luther King Jr. standing on his podium delivering the I have a dream speech. Well people..I do have a dream, of my kids being responsible well adjusted adult and looking back and saying...Yep I had a hand in that and be proud to say I'm a parent. But for right now, I will settle with getting them to vacuum a room or pick up trash on the lawn.

WooliteWashed In-Home Boutique!
First off let me express, Crowdtap is so awesome! I had a chance through them to host a WooliteWashe In-Home party. I had a casual get together. A grill out and I didn't let just any food attend my party.
I had hot dogs with all the dressings. Chips and dip, baked beans. It was really a great assortment of food. Though I would love to say I just served any food...I knew what I was doing. I knew we would have some messy eaters and I could demonstrate how well Woolite worked.
This is a picture after I washed his jeans during the party. I used no stain stick or pretreatment. I really wanted to prove how tough Woolite was and how its not just for delicates! I think I proved my case!
I even lucked out and had my son come in from playing basketball with a huge grass stain. Funny how somethings just workout. I was sent a rockin' kit:
Party Kit Items
- 10 Woolite Samples
- Party Booklet
- $10 Gift Card for Buying Party Supplies
Everyone had a great time and I think I showed Woolite in a whole new light.
How do I get to throw such awesome parties, you ask? Well I'm a member of Crowdtap. You can join and I encourage it. Woolite is just one of the brands that I love that are involved with them. The have sample shares, and you can also earn gift cards! Not to mention get to work with companies, having a voice. Its so much fun! Join today...Where Consumers and Brands Collaborate!

This post is kind of different from what I usually post, its a rant. Do you ever go out shopping or to run errand and you see friends out. It could be friends you do chat with on a constant basis, friends you have on your Facebook but really beside liking the occasional status don't talk to anymore, or even someone you haven't seen since high school. The conversations are all the same you greet, say how great the other person looks, make some small chit chat and end with call me or we should hang out. I am the friend that throws the parties. I love get togethers and strive to get everyone together to hang out and celebrate...any occasion. I invite these people and then everyone has excuses why they can't come. You would think I'm asking them over to watch home movies of me giving birth. No, I'm inviting them over for free food, good times, maybe even the occasional party games to win prizes. Sounds fun to me. I wish I had friends like myself that had these kind of get togethers where all I'm expected to do is come over and enjoy.
I realize everyone has a time or two that they have something important to do that they made prior obligations to or even have to work, I know life can't be helped. Its just frustrating, and leaves me wondering if I should invest in the time to find more friends, with like interest. Where are these people, good people who enjoy a good clean fun time.
Sometimes I don't know if the stress of throwing parties is worth it. I usually do have a reasonable good turnout and I do have them true blue friends who no matter what try to make it, It's just them ones you invite over and over and they make excuse after excuse. I think in the end I know what I have to do and let go these people out of my life. Why have someone on my Facebook just so they can see what I'm up to but not really want to have an interaction with me. Just seems like a waste of time and energy. I guess there will always be them kind of people out there and I wonder if I have ever been this person to anyone I know. I really hope not, I see this as a character flaw and I would never want someone to see me in that light.
Feels good just to write it out, seeing the words on the screen make my point more valid and will really have me considering my future relationships with people.

Acne at 33! Finding relief on Vitacost.com
I'm 396 months old, Ha, Ha, well 33 years old. I was just trying it in months like you do a toddler to see if that made me sound younger. I guess when you 33 that sounds better than saying a triple digit number to describe your age. Growing up I never really had bad acne. I feel really blessed because I've seen how acne can scar and really cause damage at a young age. What I did not expect is to be getting worse acne now that I'm older. Vitacost.com gave me a great opportunity to try out their Redmond Clay Facial Mud.
I was intrigued because its all natural, no chemicals and reading the front of the bottle says, "facials, acne, deep cleanse, draw toxins, remove impurities, and tone skin." All things that draw me in. So I clean my face with a gentle cleanser before putting this clay on. First surprise...the "clay" wasn't red.
I guess my stereotype of clay would be that its red. I don't know why but when I saw it was greenish and translucent not a robust, thick, gritty consistency. I was relieved though because glided on my skin like silk and as you can see, not to scary with it on.
Redmond Clay recommends putting it on about 1/8 inch thick. I did not and was a bit heavy handed. Think I got a bit to much into putting it on my face. First putting it on it felt chilly, then got a bit tingly and I noticed by the time it was almost dry, my face was itchy. I am assuming it was drawing out my impurities. I must have had a lot.
I washed it off and dried off. My skin was very, very smooth. I noticed my pores look smaller and my pimples seem to be already drying out and healing as soon as 3 hours after washing off the mask.
I recommend this product if you are like me and are going through the adult acne faze, you need some rejuvenation from the elements, or just want to pamper yourself.
Vitacost.com sells Redmond Clay Facial Mud for $6.99. I feel like its worth it for the 4 oz tube.
Vitacost.com friend referral program offers shoppers the ability to send their friends and let them save $10 and then give you $10 to spend also! That would well pay for the Redmond Clay, right?

Eco Nuts, Saving the planet one load at a time!
I was given Eco Nuts by Vitacost to try out. I was really excited about trying this product because I'm always looking for a new way to be more earth conscience, and if it cleans my clothes its a bonus.
Eco Nuts are berries that grow on a tree and naturally contain a soap.
The soap, called saponin, is a natural cleaner that works as a surfactant, breaking the surface tension of the water to penetrate the fibers of your clothing, lifting stains from the fabric and leaving dirt suspended in the water that is rinsed away. The Soap Nuts are a berry that grows in the Himalayas that naturally produces a soap. Love that they are so exotic.
The directions are easy.
Only four easy steps to naturally clean, odor-free laundry!
1. Place 4-5 Eco Nuts in the reusable wash bag provided and tie it closed.
2. Put it in with your laundry and wash as normal, per manufacturer instructions.
3. Remove the bag at the end of the wash and set aside to dry or do another load.
4. Re-use at least 10 times until they start to disintegrate and then they can be composted in your garden or simply add new Eco Nuts to the bag.
I tried to wash a few ways. First I used it alone. I had a mix of clothing and some were soiled more than others. Then for my next load I added a bit of other detergent only half of what I normally would add in addition to the Eco Nuts. Then on my last load I did my laundry how I would normally do it with my normal detergent and no Eco Nuts.
In the end. They were all cleaned the same. My laundry was clean and odor free. The only difference was there a bit of scent with my regular detergent. Cleanliness wise...all loads were clean I could not tell the difference. I was so surprised. Surprised that NUTS cleaned my clothes. This would be awesome for someone who has allergies. Works for laundry like delicates, silk, baby clothes, cloth Diapers, and wool.
Vitacost sells Eco Nuts Natural Laundry Detergent for $34.99 and that's good for 360 loads of laundry...that's about 10 cents a load. Excellent deal!
I give this 2 thumbs up and say, Try it!
